Frequently Asked Questions

How long are sessions?

The intake (first) session is 53-60 minutes. All sessions after the intake session will be 53 minutes.

What does the Intake session look like?

During the intake session, I will provide a brief overview of the policies and procedures outlined in the intake paperwork that you will have completed prior to our first session. This will include discussing confidentiality, the most effective methods of contacting me, and addressing any questions you may have.

Following this, I will gather general background information and delve further into the reasons that brought you to therapy. You are welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with during the session. Towards the conclusion of our session, we will discuss the goals you aim to achieve in therapy, even if you're unsure of them at this point. Additionally, I will share insights into therapeutic approaches and techniques that may be beneficial in reaching your goals.

Furthermore, I view therapy as a collaborative endeavor, and I will regularly check in with you throughout our sessions to ensure that your needs and goals are being effectively addressed.

What is your cancellation policy?

When you reserve an appointment, I dedicate that specific time slot solely to you. Should you need to cancel or reschedule, I kindly request a minimum of 24-hour notice. This allows me the opportunity to offer the time slot to individuals on the waiting list who are in need of an appointment.

Failure to provide the necessary 24-hour notice for cancellation, rescheduling, or missing your appointment will incur a charge of $130. Please be aware that this cancellation fee is payable out-of-pocket and is not reimbursable by insurance companies. Additionally, I maintain a policy requiring an active credit card on file for all clients.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Yes, I offer both in-person and virtual sessions. My office is located in Evergreen Park, IL. For more information on the location or to schedule an appointment, please click on the “Contact Us” link below.
